It’s interesting to note that this photograph was taken not long after the conclusion of his Afghanistan meeting in the Situation Room. So he went from this very substantive meeting to being able to lighten up for a minute with this young girl.”

I tried to shoot from a different vantage point at each meeting, which was a challenge because of the layout of the room. For this picture, I used a wide-angle lens and held the camera above my head to get more of an overview.”
